Losing the opportunity to make music together was one of many experiences our students lost last year. As we return to in person learning, students will also be able to return to the music room for the first time since March of 2020. When children make music, they are creating, collaborating, thinking critically and communicating. There are many tools students can use in the music room to make music, but one specific tool that our students look forward to the most is the recorder. Recorders are a melodic instrument that allows students to practice listening skills, aural skills, reading skills, fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, and breath support to name a few. Last year, our entire music budget was spent on providing recorders for every music student grades 3-5. This year, now that we are returning to the music room, we no longer have the means to provide recorders for this year's 3rd graders. We need your help to provide these instruments for our students and keep the music playing.
