The items in my project will help make my first year teaching a great one. Most of the supplies listed are organization tools which will be really helpful for planning for where everything will go as well as procedures in my classroom. This is my very first year teaching and I not only want to set myself up for success but I want to set my students up for success because that is what they deserve. Coming from a low-income household myself, getting a lot of materials has been very difficult. The book bins I requested will be for my students. They will be able to use them to get books from the classroom library and keep them by their desks. I have some already but not enough for each student to have their own. These will help them keep their books organized and give them something to do if they finish work early. I requested a shelving unit to help store extra materials that are easily accessible for all of my students. I requested giant magnetic 10-frames for 2 purposes. One is for a really great positive behavior reinforcement called Beat the Teacher. The students have to fill up their ten frames before I do and this is done by correctly following all procedures and directions. It is also a really great math tool. The other things I requested are bins so they have a spot for assignments for each subject.
