In my classroom, students learn by doing. Students will use markers, highlighters, colored pencils, glue, and paper from Donor's Choose to create projects such as autobiographies, poetry, chapter books, comic strips, and multi-media presentations. Having materials to craft projects that reflect the literature we read, such as Ta-Nehisi Coate's "The Beautiful Struggle," is critical to helping students take ownership of and pride in their own learning. I will be using the bulletin board paper and world maps from Donor's Choose to create attractive displays that reflect my students' identities and provide important information about class materials and resources.

About my class
