My students focus and learn better being able to sit comfortably while they work and move around. These bounce balls will allow for my students to safely stay at their seat to follow COVID guidelines and still get to move their bodies to get the wiggles out. My special needs students need to be able to bounce and move, and will greatly benefit from having the bounce balls at their desk. I have noticed during the last couple of weeks the difference in how their environment and seating impact behavior and overall learning now that my students can not move around the class because of COVID guidelines. I currently have a few flexible seating options in my room that I have purchased so some students can at least get out of their uncomfortable chairs. However, our school has had to tighten up COVID regulations so we can no longer sit around the room in the flexible seating we do have. This has shown to negatively impact some of my students' ability to focus and sit still in their seat. I wish for nothing more than to let my students be comfortable while they learn. That is why I have requested balance balls for desk seating so my students can stay in their desk area and focus.
