Sensory items are soothing to children with difficult histories. The chair allows for a rocking motion. The hugging animals allow the child to receive a hug when they don't feel safe receiving hugs from adults. The magnetic tiles are captivating and engage their brain in a way that encourages concentration and learning. These devices help these wonderful children to recover from trauma and be able to thrive moving forward. When we can turn off the fight or flight response through soothing their senses or engaging the higher centers of their brain, they are in an optimal state to learn.
