I requested these materials from the school district I work for and I was denied. This book will help support a new ethnic studies class on our school campus. We want this book because students will read an authentic version of history rather than reading from a textbook that hardly promotes the diversity of our country. Our teacher was told to provide online materials, however, our students prefer to learn with physical books. Not only will students learn history, but they will also improve their literacy skills. We plan to use this book in conjunction with the book "Stamped."
