The materials that I am requesting already have a home in an area I have set up to be called the Rest Area. Our school wide theme this year is traveling America and my classroom spin on that will be a road trip! The Rest Area will be just that; a rest from learning time and a safe place for recharging. The rugs will be used as a foundation to the Rest Area. The sign will let students know what the area is used for and will go along with our theme. The different seating options will be used as students read independently and/or need a safe, comfortable spot to sit on the floor. The sensory items requested will be used for students who need that fidget or calm down piece. Pillows requested will make the space more inviting for those learning readers.
