The sensory room will help a minimum of fifteen K-4th grade students with poor self-regulation skills to learn how to either ease tensions or increase their energy in order to access their education. Sensory areas are great places to regroup and be ready for the next lesson. They also assist students in understanding their body, mind, and emotional states and what to do to help themselves. The Sensational Sensory Room will teach children self regulation that they can use outside of the sensory room, at home, or in the classroom. The books are important, also. I will be reading them to the entire school one class at a time. Children will gain understanding about people with different abilities. They will learn that students with disabilities are just like them, wanting to make friends, be valued and understood, and grow up healthy.
