While these supplies are pretty basic items, they are not easy for me to buy for all 20 of my students. As a first-year teacher, I have spent a good bit of my money on classroom library books for my students, all of the necessary teacher supplies, and transforming our classroom into a warm and welcoming space. As our first day is quickly approaching (July 28), I am eager to gather everything my students need to start writing in their journals, exploring math concepts with interactive reference tools they will create for their math notebooks, using post-it notes to jot down their questions and thoughts as they dive into new books, and so much more. When my amazing students enter my classroom, the last thing I want them to worry about is whether or not they have the materials they need to be productive and get the most out of each lesson.
