Small marching bands always have it harder because we cannot be as loud as big bands. Everyone assumes the big band is better just because there are more bodies. We are proof that a small band can be great, but using electronics to create music like the big bands will allow us to be more competitive. These ipads will allow our parent volunteer group to focus on purchasing curriculum and additional instructors providing more 1-to-1 instruction. In addition to being a small band, we are also part of a rural Title-I school where we receive no funding beyond the teacher salary. We have a parent volunteer group that helps with fundraising, but our community continues to struggle economically and cannot help with everything our school district tries to offer students.
