This project will help our STARR program and the students that we serve who struggle social and emotionally. Snacks help to keep them focused as hunger can be a trigger for my students. We have worked to have a snack cabinet in the STARR classroom where choices are listed out and student have worked to learn this routine. We try to find items that are filling but also that the students enjoy. The STARR program also implements positive interventions for positive behaviors. We have a store a that run daily for positive behavior. We have a store that runs daily for positive behaviors. The students earn tickets throughout the day for exhibiting positive behavior and doing the right thing even when it is tough. They then can use the tickets as currency to make purchases in the afternoon.
