These novels will allow my classes to dive into literary circles where they can meet with their peers each week! I believe exposing them to good books will awaken them from dormancy. My classroom community will strengthen with an increase in both casual and academic conversation between students who had not spoken prior to book clubs. There is also an intensity in student-to-student listening. Discussing books face-to-face is magical. The more diverse the book club selections are and the wider the range of text complexity is, the more likely it is that all students will he able to find something they want to read.
