First, thank you for helping teachers out. The books and magazines that I chose were purposefully and intentionally picked to benefit all types of readers at different levels and with different genres. I am moving down to third grade from fourth, so all of my classrooms books are currently at too high of a level. I firmly believe in reading taking kids places and pushing them in their education and thinking. These books will do just that. I also chose books for science and social studies, diversity, and books to encourage my reluctant readers. I have also chosen flexible seating for many purposes. I have many ADHD, tiered, and SPED students that could benefit from these seats that get their wiggles out, increase engagement, and allow for more choice in their learning. This helps all students though because I promote all kids finding their learning styles and what works for them. Laying on their bellies helps focus, standing desk for my fidget kids, wobble seats for distracted students, etc... I don't believe one size fits all in education. I can differentiate in my teaching (and do) all day, but things are different these days and kids NEED movement. I want kids to know they can succeed and help them find their way of doing that. The flex seating I do have now is well taken care of and loved by my students, so I'd like to add more so every student can have one or the option to.
