My classroom is in need of flexible seating options. Research has shown that flexible seating allows students to wiggle, wobble, bounce, rock, lean, and stand in order to increase oxygen flow to the brain, causing students to become more alert and focused. It also allows students to communicate, collaborate, and feel comfortable while learning. My students will love when they can sit in different places around the room and work either independently or with their peers. These stools will be placed around my horseshoe table when they are meeting with me for small group. This will allow them to be comfortable and attentive while learning crucial material. Making sure that students are comfortable when learning is a key piece in keeping them motivated and ready to learn.
