After my first three years of teaching third grade, I have come to recognize how crucial a classroom library plays in developing young readers. The main goal of this project is to better supply my classroom library with engaging, on-level texts for all types of readers. One of the best ways to hook young readers is by introducing them to book series. Engagement is the foundation in building a reader, so adding book series to my classroom will help in doing that. Once a kiddo finds a series they like, their reading life begins to blossom! Their stamina, as well as their confidence, grows as a reader. In addition to reading book series individually, reading partnerships play a crucial role in developing a strong reader. Books are meant to be discussed with others, so my goal is to start that in the classroom! This project will help me start to build out my library in an intentional way to grow readers!
