I already have a plan for how I will use these novels and games to help student's connect to the language. Students will use the novels for Free Voluntary Reading weekly. Students will be asked to summarize and reflect upon their reading each week. They will be given opportunities to speak with their classmates about a book they read that affected them and explain why. Students will share out some of their favorite phrases and sentences from the book. Reading the novels will allow them to speak, read, write, and listen to the language in a personal and meaningful context. The games will be used to have students engage with the school based curriculum. Students will get repetitive practice while having fun, which helps students with commonly used vocabulary and grammar. Both the novels and games will help students become more confident with learning spanish language and culture.
