A new camera would help enhance the skills of my yearbook staff members in producing a high quality yearbook for our student body. A yearbook is much more than photographs, but high quality photographs make the yearbook perfect! I am currently having to ask parents to help us out at sporting events and yearbook staff members to use their cellphones to take pictures. The camera that we had was last purchased in 2005 and it would currently cost more to fix it than to purchase a new one of the same quality. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the hardest working, most talented students we have. The yearbook staff has been recognized nationally by Herff Jones (yearbook distributor) for their work in 2015, 2017, and 2018, and in numerous articles in newspapers and yearbook publication magazines. Each year my students are creative, energetic and passionate about creating something that will be viewed by hundreds of people many times over the years. Having a new camera for them to use will help them create lasting memories for students to look back and reflect on.
