My juniors read The Great Gatsby orally, complete an interactive notebook as we read, and end the novel with a roaring 20’s party complete with costumes and 20’s decor! My seniors read Lord of the Flies orally and complete several exciting projects that coincide with the curriculum! These students love these novels, and they are wonderful reads in preparation for college literature classes! I believe reading novels such as these not only transports the students to a different time and place, but also encourages them to read more novels beyond my classroom!

About my class
