As a first-year teacher, I am starting with a blank slate and I want my students to have the essentials for my classroom. I want my students to experience the true joy of learning instead of worrying about needing supplies. I want my students to have fun while learning with daily hands-on activities, fun learning games, through small groups, etc. “If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” – Ignacio Estrada. A comfortable and understanding classroom environment is vital to student learning. I always pictured my ideal classroom to have a variety of flexible seating options such as bean bags, yoga balls, pillows, lap desks, wobble chairs, etc. As we will work in small groups daily; having various seating options will allow students to take responsibility for their learning, starting with the choice of where to sit. When students are comfortable, they are more motivated, focused, calm and engaged. A classroom should feel like home! I want to give my students everything they need, I just need a little help. Please support me with everything needed such as books, basic supplies, flexible seating options, organization bins for small groups and so much more. I appreciate any donation to help me get my first-year of teaching off to a great start!!
