Just as these words “today a reader, tomorrow a leader” serve a place on my classroom walls, they serve an even greater place in my heart. As I move into a new classroom and ultimately, a new school, this fall, the importance of literacy is at the forefront of my teaching experience. Reading allows children to expand upon vocabulary and delve into comprehension and higher order thinking skills. Providing children with a diverse library creates a deeper understanding of self, relationships, and the world around them as they determine and pursue their individual interests and enrich themselves in new ideas. Supporting my DonorsChoose will allow me to give the gift of literacy to my students!
