I am searching for books for my homeroom classroom of students with IEPs and ESOL students and the students I will have when coteaching. Growing up, I dreaded reading assignments in class. I always wished I could choose my own book to read rather than be assigned a book. But then, a college professor gave us this opportunity, where we could select books around a theme. This is what I want to do with my students! Specifically, I am searching for a diverse collection. I am excited to inspire a love for reading as students will have a wide variety of books to choose from. My goal is for my students to learn about different cultures, themselves, and different life experiences as we approach different units and lessons in the classroom. My students in grades 6-12 appreciate you!
