I am starting a new environmental science technical shop at my school. To help freshmen understand the basics of the food web, as well as some of the fundamentals of the subject matter, this project would be invaluable. It will also help to peak their interest in learning about the environment. I teach in an urban area, where many students have little wildlife experience. By dissecting owl pellets, students will be learning about many species all at once. It will allow the lesson to open up to the effects of rodenticides and how better to protect raptor species.
