Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Currently, my students are choosing to stand in the back, sit on the counter, or on top of their desks with clipboards. Our current room is not currently designed for the diverse learning needs we have. We know that every student is unique and they don't all learn the same way so we want to embrace flexible seating. We started leaving a box of fidgets out for students to borrow during the class period. It's been amazing to see the difference a small change had on many of our students! This project will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Allowing students the freedom to move while sitting and learning to allow them the ability to focus on the lesson and not just sitting still. The wobble stools are adjustable in height which is helpful for our junior high students to still reach the floor and the desk. The other wiggle seat is super beneficial for students that don't have a lot of core strength for a stool but allows them a more stable choice with the same results.
