Youth Services provides education to middle school and high school students in residential treatment facilities in Florida. Students are enrolled in the core subjects of English, math, science, and social studies and also given career preparation instruction. My facility houses students that are in a drug rehabilitation program and are typically in the facility for eight to ten months. While in the facility the students receive the curriculum typically received in their respective grade levels if in a traditional school. Students that are overage for their grade level and have fallen behind in the traditional setting are given the opportunity to pursue their GED. If successful, upon receiving their GED they are given additional opportunities for online study in post-secondary education.
