Reading has always held a special place in my heart, and my fifth graders deserve to know the power that reading a great book holds. As a teacher, I know that a child's reading skills affect a multitude of subject areas. The books provided through this project will encourage and promote independent reading in my classroom. By curating a welcoming classroom library, my students will have the option to choose from books that both meet their interests and encourage them to consistently build up their reading skills. Each book has been carefully pre-selected by me to ensure that my students have access to interesting, grade-level appropriate reading materials. My goal is for my students to have to opportunity to share the same love for reading that I do.
