My students, all 21 of them, are wonderful and eager to learn. While their needs range from kinder to fourth grade, they all have one thing in common: a drive for knowledge. These students are most definitely a unique bunch with tastes in dinosaurs, to robots, to literature and space. Their interests in these subjects are the stepping stones to learning more and achieving a great education. My students attend a newly opened charter school, located in a low-socioeconomic area, where they are being taught that college is definitely an attainable goal. Many, if not all, receive free or reduced lunch and are 1st generation students who will proudly be the first to attend college in their families.
