We know that students on the autism spectrum have higher levels of anxiety. Research shows that making a classroom more like a home environment helps reduce anxiety. So with this comfortable sitting area my students will have the opportunity to have comfort and complete school work while reducing anxiety and help promote a healthier mental state of mind for all! Middle school is stressful, but donating to our project so that our students will have an area where they can go and decompress will make the learning much more comfortable and meaningful for each of them. I already have a place ready for the set to go in our classroom, we just need your help getting it through our door. Students will use this area to work in small groups, have options for sitting, and relax when the work is done!
