This project will create a calm-down corner for my classroom. This corner will be called Time for a BREAK (Breathe, Reflect, Emotions, Access, and Know.) Children will be allowed to to go this safe place anytime throughout the school day if they need time to calm down. The cozy chair, lamp, carpet, and end table will create a place away from other students so they can take a BREAK. The books, fidget toys, yoga mat, timers and puzzles will allow students to access materials that might help them regulate their emotions so they can return to learning. The use of these items will give my students opportunities to learn and practice the regulation of emotions and modulation of behaviors.
