One part of this project is to help build my classroom library with diverse texts that I am hoping will help to engage students in the act of reading more and give students an avenue to discover the type of literature they individually enjoy. Often students see reading as a chore they dread, especially when they get to the higher levels of education. By filling this library with various novels with intriguing storylines, as well as texts like graphics novels with great visuals, there will be a selection that can cater to all. Through the use of headphones, students will be able to engage in more individualized learning tasks, where they can move at their own pace. Due to the unending changes during the COVID pandemic, my students are all at various levels of understanding and growth. This project will help to address the various learning gaps my students have due to the lasting impact of the COVID pandemic.
