Many of my students have significant reading challenges. These graphic novels will hopefully expose them to classic literature. I chose Dracula because I felt that would hold their interest. There are so many directions I can take the novel. First and foremost is the rich and textured vocabulary in the novel. We will be able as a class to explore and discover the meanings of new words. Dracula will also give the class the opportunity to explore character development, the characters impact on the story, whether they are a protagonist or antagonist. Another great aspect of Dracula is how it shifts its first-person point of view throughout the novel from character to character.
