Studies have shown that students who have the chance to learn outside are more engaged in learning. Outside seating will allow my students to experience the physical benefits of being outdoors as well as allowing me to present educational experiences in new ways. Students will be able to have the opportunities to eat lunch outside as well as observe and explore nature, science activities and arts and crafts. The tables will be placed near our garden area, which will also allow for additional seating during gardening activities. My students are special needs and attend a life skills based classroom. Many of our activities are hands-on and help students to develop social and vocational skills that will help them succeed in their lives. These tables will open up so many additional opportunities for my students to experience.
