My third grade students are from a rural Appalachia area in southeastern Ohio. About 40% of my students qualify for free and reduced lunches. Our public school has approximately 700 students in grades K-5. Although our school is large, we have limited resources and our school library is limited. About 80% of our library's books are over 20 years old. Classroom teachets must pay for their own classroom resources including basic supplies.
