My students would benefit from the use of a teaching easel in our classroom. It is a large, extra-wide teaching easel with magnetic dry-erase boards on either side, which would allow me to model curriculum skills and objectives, while teaching my students in a large group setting. It also has writing lines on one side, so that I can model correct handwriting with the formation of letters and placement of strokes, then allow them to practice and hone their own handwriting skills during small group instruction and classroom centers. We will be able to use the easel together when learning literacy skills such as letter-sound correlation, concepts of print, decoding, and vocabulary development We will also use the easel together when we are learning math skills, such as number formation and ten frame practice. The possibilities of learning will be endless with this easel.
