Currently my students are using an online platform to practice their chess skills. They log into one of my Google classrooms for the social interaction, while playing a game in an online platform. While this is fine for the current online learning environment, I will need supplies when we return to in person classes this fall. Playing chess builds critical thinking skills while encouraging social interaction. I will need physical chess sets and clocks for my students to practice/play once the shut-down ends and classes return to normal. My goal is to prepare them for tournament play.
