My students attend a magnet school with a theme of medical and science exploration in an urban neighborhood. Ninety percent of the students are economically disadvantaged; 90% of my students are minorities. These children need the extras that they are not afforded in the classroom or through state funding. My students are inquisitive and enjoy hands on activities to help them learn through the kinesthetic modality of learning. They are also avid readers who will benefit from having the opportunity to read books about health and the human body.

About my class
