We are raising money for a sensory room for our class. Every student in our class processes their five senses differently. They often become overwhelmed or overexcited by light, noises, textures, colors, movements, etc. My students' reactions to their senses affects their behavior and emotions in the classroom. A sensory room is designed to give students a positive and safe way to explore their senses. For example, students can see and hear different colors, lights, and sounds through the wave projector, bubble tube, or sensory tiles. They can enjoy different movements on the wobble board, swing, or trampoline. The bean bags, pillows, and ball pit let students experience different textures and feelings. Our sensory room will teach our students to work through their reactions and emotions to their senses. This space will give students a place to calm down, socialize, and develop their motor skills. This room will truly help our students flourish!
