I have been an elementary school counselor for fifteen years and pride myself on fun, engaging, creative and outside the box lessons in the classroom. It’s been really difficult conducting my favorite activities with the times we live in. I can create versions of my lessons on computer but my students are so sick of staring at a screen and working independently on even the most fun puzzle, that they are begging for social interaction and discussion. The main desire in this entire project is the classroom set of buzzers. I like to take content and turn it into a game that is relevant and engaging and many times, rely on teamwork and groups of students. This would allow my students to put the laptops away which I never thought I would say. They would be thrilled with nothing more than a colorful button in front of them and the ability to share ideas and work together while staying socially distant.
