Our students need therapeutic items that will allow them to calm and focus so they can be prepared for learning and interacting with others. These items have been carefully chosen for students who have difficulties interacting their senses. The items will be placed in a sensory room where all students will have access, In this room students can just chill and play in an engaging and calming manner. The room and the items are designed to stimulate, develop and relax the senses. Unlike a classroom, a sensory room allows students to explore for themselves. The decor of a sensory room will include items that are geared towards all the senses: touch, smell, sight, feel, and taste. A variety of sitting will be placed in the room for students to determine what works best for them. By donating to our sensory room, you will not only help to improve student attention and focus but it will also help to increase time on task which leads to higher academic achievement.
