When the author comes to visit they get a chance to discover and discuss the messages within each story by reading the books and applying the messages to their lives. Students will be given a chance to first read the traditional tales, then read the Torn Up Tales. We will discuss similarities and visit with the author. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions of the author. Later the students will pick a traditional story and write their own Torn Up Tale. The author will also be bring some activities for the students to enjoy.
