The materials I am seeking for my classroom are materials needed to help provide a safe environment while learning foundational skills in Kindergarten. Having a set of plexiglass tri-fold boards will make a tremendous difference with my student's learning. Not only will this support having a safe environment, but also allow my students to stay engage with their learning. Imagine taking a regular desk and adding a plexiglass tri-fold on top and having it decorated in the front with personal creative faces designed by the students of themselves with a crown on their head! Can you picture the excitement of my students entering and ready to get started with our day? I can! This is where my students will have their personal area they are in charge of to excel in their learning. This is what I want to provide for my students while at the same time providing safety. It is hard for students at this age to be confined to a mask all day long. This will give my students an opportunity to have a mask break while they are sitting in their learning space and be comfortable to complete their leveled assignments while communicating with their peers in partners or group collaboration. I do not want to remove the spirit of motivation in young minds within this age range of learning. Please allow me the advantage of helping my students, parents, colleagues, administration, and myself to have a sense of safety while continuing to educate our youth with a variety of learning styles.
