My students and I are currently reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory online and it has proven difficult without the books on hand. We are comparing and contrasting the book to the movie and they are super engaged with the characters and the plot line. They are learning to make inferences and ask questions about what will happen next. With the Magic Tree House series, I would like to do book reports and have my kids work on their writing skills. These books really highlight certain topics about a wide range of ideas, so my students would be able to choose something they would enjoy writing about. I am a new teacher, so I am working on building my own classroom library for my students to use and hopefully find a love for reading!
