Literacy skills have always been one of our greatest challenges. There are no readily accessible interesting "light" materials for these students to read. With the pandemic, everything has gone digital and students rarely get to hold literature in their hands and interact with it. The articles and short stories in Action magazine are high-interest stories that are specifically created for this age group. These magazines will be great starting points for conversation and hands on activities that can be brought home and shared with parents and siblings, written on, highlighted and circled. I would like to use them for Socratic seminars and philosophical chairs and debates.
