We are living in unprecedented times. Our students are surviving a world pandemic. However, there has been a significant loss of instruction because of the impact of this catastrophic event. My project would put engaging books in the hands and homes of students to read this summer. This effort will arm them with the materials they need to sustain their learning through the time off from school during the summer. Now more than any time before, the threat of learning loss is a real threat to student achievement. My students need the reading material and the time on the laps of adults to not only sustain learning but to develop their social-emotional lives!
