Students will be coming back to school full-time in two weeks after a year of distance learning. The pandemic has hurt student growth in mathematics in our community. Therefore, these games will provide great opportunities for students to have fun, but more importantly regain their confidence in their problem-solving abilities. Because we care so much about our students, we at Lincoln have decided to schedule more time for students to do math activities collaboratively. Students will be given the freedom to choose teammates and learn the various games during this extra math time up to 3 hours each week. Our district professional development has proven these types of games can increase student confidence in their own math ability and strengthens problem-solving skills.
