My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. Unfortunately, so many of my books have been so well loved that they need to be replaced. I read aloud to my students every day with lots of expression and animation. This increases their interest in reading books on their own. Every book that is placed in my library is an opportunity for students to enjoy the lives of others and to learn and grow. Reading books they love also helps improve their creativity in writing their own stories. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level and interest. Students in second grade are just developing their independent reading skills. It is crucial to provide books of high interest to motivate children to read. These books I have chosen will do just that. This project will enrich my students' lives and help create life-long readers of them.
