With these items, my students will build gardens and planter boxes filled with the edible fruits and vegetables they grew from seeds or food scraps. They will learn about how to sustainably grow plants in an urban setting through hydroponics. They will learn how to design, take care of, and maintain their vegetable gardens so they can reap the delicious and healthy benefits year after year. These are some of my big ticket items that will give my students the opportunity of a hands-on experience as I teach them about sustainable living through growing plants and building gardens. They will use these experiences to go out into the world and make it a better place to live.
