The use of a second monitor, I have come to realize, has become a teaching necessity. Instructional time will be better used by having an additional screen to see my students while using my laptop to conduct a lesson. A laptop is a great tool, but quite frankly the minimal size of the screen does not effectively due justice to the need for multiple screens open to see a class, see a presentation and have a whiteboard open. The use of an additional monitor will improve the quality of my instructional time.
