Without a second monitor, I cannot share my screen for instruction and still see my students in Microsoft Teams meetings. This monitor will enable me to SEE all of my students during live, digital lessons. I will be able to interact with them, see their hands raised, observe looks of confusion, and better engage them in their learning. We will maintain collaboration time and a sense of family through the interactions this will provide us. So much of teaching is observing students. Not only does it help me to feel like I am teaching to real students, but I can better gauge their level of understanding.
