My classroom is full of literature for my students to read, but it lacks more challenging books that foster higher level learning. My second graders are reading on a third grade level and want to be inspired by more complex texts. These chapter books would greatly benefit our classroom community by motivating students to choose a text about items that interest them and encourage engagement higher levels of thinking while reading.
