I want my students to be able to dive into a book and enjoy the act of reading! Each item in my list pertains to a customized reading nook and literacy centers. I have picked two sets of reading books that cover my students interests and specific reading levels to allow them to be comfortable to read confidently on their own. I would like to have some kind of soft surface in this reading corner to allow them to get out of their desks and explore their own classroom. I also do not have the organization or storage for these book which is why I am requesting two book shelves. These will be organized by both reading level and genre. My students are eager to learn more about the world they live in! I would like to provide a safe spot for reading groups. This is where they can contribute their own thoughts and ideas and also learn from their peers. This will be a perfect way to help organize my classroom to gain their full attention while other peers are busy at other literacy centers. These students have not had the opportunity to see what they are fully capable of, and I cannot wait for that day to come!
